Do You Have A Health and Safety Plan? - SSCI Environmental
OSHA requires certain employers to maintain and implement health and safety programs.
Below are questions clients frequently ask concerning Health & Safety Plans (HASP) and Hazard Communication Programs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who needs a health and safety program?
Health and safety program requirements apply to most private-sector employers, particularly those whose operations involve hazardous materials. Industries that commonly fall under these requirements include construction, maritime, manufacturing, and other industrial sectors.
Can you just review my plan/program and make recommendations or give me an update?
Yes! Separation Systems Consultants, Inc. (SSCI) can do an assessment (safety audit) of your workplace, which includes a review of your health and safety plans. In addition, many plans require annual updates. SSCI is ready to help you stay current!
Can you create a plan specific to my company?
Yes! Our site-specific plan development includes an initial meeting to determine which written plans are required for your company. We will work with you to determine the best evacuation routes, emergency procedures, hazardous material management procedures, etc. for your facility.
After you prepare the plan, can you train our employees on the plan?
Most written plans require employees to be trained on the written procedures. SSCI can provide the training and/or help you develop and present training in-house!
What makes SSCI qualified to write my HASP?
SSCI has written OSHA-compliant plans and programs for government entities, small businesses, and companies with as many as 500 employees. SSCI employees don't just sit in the office and write about safety theories; we also work outside with construction companies, manufacturing facilities, public entities, and educational institutions. We get our hands dirty! SSCI has provided consulting services for companies with OSHA violations and aided in the abatement of fines for those with violations.
If you write my plan, can you provide QA/QC checks to see how we are doing?
We recommend a "six-month" check-up to ensure implementation is going smoothly. Of course, we can always come more or less often.
OSHA got me. Can you help?
Yes! Give us a call. We have the experience needed to help. Quick action on your part demonstrates concern for the safety and health of employees.
